Preservation is key for natural dyes. For the first 2–3 washes, Dry Clean Only is mandatory. If you eventually hand wash, use cold water with a pinch of rock salt to lock in the pigments. Never use bleach or harsh detergents, and always dry the saree in a shaded, well-ventilated area, as direct sunlight acts as a natural bleaching agent on vegetable dyes.
