Start by thoroughly cleaning the idol with water and then drying it gently. Once clean, smear the idol with turmeric and kumkum, symbolizing purity and auspiciousness.

2. Dressing the Idol

The next step is to drape the idol in a beautiful saree. Opt for bright and vibrant colors such as red, yellow, or green, which are considered auspicious in Hindu rituals.
