Decorating the idol of Varalakshmi Devi is a sacred and joyful activity that allows you to express your devotion and creativity.

1. Preparing the Idol

Before beginning the decoration, it’s important to prepare the idol or kalash (a symbolic representation of the Goddess) with the utmost reverence. Start by thoroughly cleaning the idol with water and then drying it gently. Once clean, smear the idol with turmeric and kumkum, symbolizing purity and auspiciousness.

2. Dressing the Idol

The next step is to drape the idol in a beautiful saree. Opt for bright and vibrant colors such as red, yellow, or green, which are considered auspicious in Hindu rituals.
