Since the saree is visually "busy," a solid-colored blouse in a contrasting shade (like the forest green in the photos) is the safest and most elegant bet. To modernize it, experiment with back cutouts, high-neck Victorian collars, or elbow-length sleeves with gold piping. Avoid printed blouses unless the patterns are very minimal and don't compete with the saree's narrative.
